Seborrhoische alopecia is duidelijk een van de meest voorkomende vormen van haaruitval bij (gedeeltelijk) kale mannen. Het kan ook vrouwen treffen, vooral tijdens de menopauze of na een behandeling met androgenen.<\/p>\n\n

Waarom wordt deze seborrhoisch genoemd?<\/h2>\n\n

Seborrhoische alopecia wordt alleen veroorzaakt door een overmatige talgproductie die de levenscyclus van het haar zal versnellen. Deze te hoge afscheiding van talg wordt veroorzaakt door hormonale stoornissen.<\/p>\n\n

In principe is talg, een vettige substantie die wordt afgescheiden door de talgklier, een natuurlijke beschermer tegen aanvallen van buitenaf. De talgklier produceert talg die samen met het vocht uit de zweetklieren de huidlaag vormt die de hoofdhuid bedekt en ook beschermt.<\/p>\n\n

Maar wanneer talg op een abnormale en overmatige manier wordt geproduceerd, wordt hij schadelijk: de levenscyclus van het haar versnelt, dus het haar valt sneller uit. Andere storende effecten treden op: het haar wordt zwaarder, verliest zijn glans, kracht en volume en valt uit. De talg verhindert de normale ontwikkeling van het haar en verzwakt het tot het uitvalt.
